Even as a young girl when I massaged my dad's arthritic hands for a quarter, I knew there was healing power in touch. I saw how good it made him feel and the welcome relief in his face! So it wasn't a surprise that therapeutic massage found me later in life. I wanted to learn more about the most basic, yet most powerful connection we humans have; the power of touch.
When I decided to make a career change and turn my passion into my life's work, I entered into the massage therapy program at Pitt Community College in Greenville North Carolina. I graduated in 2005 with an AAS degree in Therapeutic Massage and went on to receive my NC licensure soon after. Upon moving to Virginia in 2009, I received my VA licensure through the Virginia Board of Nursing. To maintain this licensure it is necessary for me to fulfill continuing education requirements, therefore advancing my knowledge and sharing this with you.
I have also been a member of the American Massage Therapy Association since I started practicing. As a member, I am committed to the AMTA Code of Ethics and must meet all state and/or local requirements to practice.
I look forward to working together with you and your body to find that essential balance between work and wellness!
I am a certified Neural Reset Therapist, NAT certified Trigger Point Therapist and certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.
I am also beginning my studies in Canine Massage Therapy. I look forward to sharing this with you!
Here's some photos of my furry & feathered family. The power of touch transcends all creatures!
